Verizon: LTE rollout on target

16 Feb 2010

CTO of US-based telco Verizon, Richard Lynch, has announced that the company remains on track to launch Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in as many as 30 markets in 2010, FierceWireless reports. He added that deployments were continuing on schedule and that two networks, in Boston and Seattle, could be completed by the end of April. However, a launch is not expected until later in the year. Lynch said: ‘Boston and Seattle will be fully passed in terms of testing, and then we will announce to our vendors that we are ready for commercial infrastructure deployment in a big way. I have no doubt that we will make a 2010 launch.’
