Movistar Colombia has launched a push to talk (PTT) service aimed at the corporate segment, according to Bnamericas which cites local press reports. The PTT service, called Movitalk, will be available in 926 cities and municipalities across the country. Local operators Avantel, Comcel and Tigo already offer PTT services, so Movistar’s launch is unlikely to prove a major differentiator. Movistar – a wholly owned subsidiary of Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica – had 8.96 million subscribers at the end of 2009, up from 8.81 million three months earlier.
