Vodafone Qatar does not expect its fixed line services to be fully operational until 2011 or 2012 after delays in receiving approval for the country’s second national operator (SNO) licence that it won in 2008, the company’s chief executive said, as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. ‘For full services for the fixed business we are talking 2011/12, not 2010/11 because of the time it takes to build fixed services,’ Grahame Maher, Vodafone Qatar CEO told Zawya Dow Jones on Sunday. ‘We are waiting for the final approval of the shareholding structure that the government wants to run. We expect to have this by the end of the year,’ he added.
