Czech mobile operator T-Mobile CR has announced the commercial launch of its Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) supplied 3G/3.5G network following a trial launched last month. The new network is currently only available in the capital Prague but will be extended to the largest Bohemian and Moravian cities by the end of this year, it said. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, in December 2009 T-Mobile said the roll out of its 3G/HSPA network had entered the final phase, following the launch of user trials on 9 December. The cellco hoped to realise downlink and uplink data transfer rates of 3Mbps/1.5Mbps during the trial, and people wishing to take part could register by sending a SMS to a special number. Any data transfers made were billed to them as part of their standard tariff plan or data add-ons, the cellco said.
