Telkom interested in Internux’s BWA service

25 Jan 2010

Indonesian operator Telkom is interested in acquiring the broadband wireless access (BWA) operated zone won by PTInternux, Tempo Interactive reports, citing Telkom marketing and communication vice president Eddy Kurnia as saying. Kurnia says ‘the zone has prospects but we must study it first.’ PT Internux was the winner of one service zone, covering Banten, Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. However, it failed to make payment for the rights to use of 2.3GHz BWA frequency band. The government is understood to have extended the deadline for the payment until 20 February 2010.
