Digicel Haiti working to restore network; users given free calls

Digicel Group released a statement reporting on the state of its network in Haiti on Sunday 17 January, by which time it said it was working on restoring the 30% of base stations which remained out of action, whilst congestion was still a problem when making and receiving international calls. Digicel also announced it had given each of its two million-plus customers in Haiti USD5 of free call credit.
