Telekom Srpske eyes MTEL stake

The management of Bosnian telco Telekom Srpske has confirmed that it is in negotiation with Amsterdam-based holding company Ogalar – owned by Serbian businessman Miroslav Miskovic – about the purchase of a 49% stake in Montenegrin cellco MTEL. The remainder of MTEL is owned by Telekom Srbija, itself 80%-owned by the Serbian government and 20% by Greece’s OTE. Telekom Srpske, meanwhile, is 65% owned by Telekom Srbija and 25% owned by three funds based in Republika Srpska (10% by a privatisation fund, 10% by the company’s Pension and Life Assurance Fund, 5% by its Restitution Fund). The remaining 10% is publicly owned.
