Dutch investor Cyrte Investments has placed at least four million shares in German telecoms company freenet, news agency Reuters reports, citing sources familiar with the situation. The sources stated that Cyrte had held a stake of around 3% in freenet; according to Reuters data, the number of shares it sold means that the company likely offloaded its entire stake. Traders had said earlier that Goldman Sachs was placing 4.5 million freenet shares at EUR9.30 (USD13.4) per share on behalf of an unnamed client. Meanwhile, private equity company Permira, which owns about 10% of freenet, has said it is not selling any of its shares.
