According to a report by Business News Americas, citing local daily Ultima Hora, Paraguayan regulator Conatel has awarded local cellco Tigo a contract to deploy mobile services in four under served departments, helping the regulator achieve its universal service targets. Under the deal, Tigo will roll out networks to 35 municipalities in Amambay, Canindeyu, San Pedro and Concepcion, where cellular services are currently unavailable. The government will provide funding of around USD1.04 million to support the network deployment.
