7 Dec 2009

Nepalese operator Nepal Satellite Telecom (NST) has picked eServGlobal to provide it with a suite of so-called ‘smart transaction management solutions’ for charging, payment and retention services, according to unconfirmed media reports. Under the deal eServGlobal and another company, Xalted Information Systems, will provide convergent billing, value added services (VAS) and related accessories for NST’s existing subscriber base of 150,000 users, while the provider will also supply IVR, USSD and SMS solutions.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, NST announced the formal launch of its new GSM mobile services under the brand name ‘Hello Nepal’ on 24 September. The country’s fifth telecoms services provider introduced its service in the mid and far western regions of the country.
