Thai operators given until August to launch MNP

Thailand’s National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has decided to give the country’s mobile network operators until August next year to launch mobile number portability (MNP), reports the Bangkok Post. The regulator set the new date after operators said they could not meet the original deadline of the end of this month. Operators are now working to set up a clearing house to support MNP, and market leader by subscribers, Advanced Info Services (AIS), said it would cooperate with rivals in an attempt to provide the service well in advance of the deadline, ‘early next year’.
