19 Nov 2009

Malaysian would-be WiMAX provider YTL Communications has announced that it has signed a wholesale Ethernet service and master tenancy for infrastructure sharing agreement with fixed line incumbent Telekom Malaysia™. The 15-year agreement will allow YTL to utilise TM’s nationwide wholesale Ethernet service, while it will also gain access to more than 200 of TM’s base stations across the country. ‘The collaboration with TM is pivotal and strategic as it will create a complete eco-system that provides for a truly converged nationwide mobile Internet service using 4G technology,’ YTL Group’s managing director Tan Sri Dr Francis Yeoh Sock Ping said of the deal.
