Greek pre-payers told to register it or lose it

17 Nov 2009

Following the introduction of new legislation, all pre-paid mobile phone users in Greece are being told to register their personal details or be cut off. Leading mobile operator Cosmote Greece has announced its compulsory registration scheme for all existing and new pre-paid users, in line with the law. As from 8 November Cosmote customers can register their details with their phones, and must do so by 30 July 2010 in order to continue using pre-paid services. All new customers of Cosmote’s pay-as-you-go packages (COSMOΚΑΡΤΑ, WHAT’S UP, FROG and CIAO) must provide ID in order to activate their connection.
