Omantel net profit slips 1.5%

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has released a statement to announce its unaudited financial results for the nine months ended 30 September 2009, reporting a 1.2% fall in revenue year-on-year to OMR303.8 million (USD791.8 million). The telco’s net profit after tax reached OMR105.8 million in 9M 2009, down 1.5% compared to the OMR107.4 million generated in the same period a year earlier, while operating expenses amounted to OMR190.3 million, representing an increase of 3.6% against OMR183.5 million in the first nine months of 2008.
