MetroPCS revenues up 30% y-o-y

Dallas-based cellco MetroPCS today announced financial and operational results for the quarter ended 30 September 2009, reporting revenues of USD896 million, up 30% from USD687 million a year earlier. Net income for the three month period climbed from USD45 million in Q308 to USD74 million in the third quarter of 2009. Roger D. Linquist, CEO of MetroPCS, said: ‘This quarter we focused on managing costs; we delivered solid financial results and positioned the company for future growth.’ The company added 66,157 net new customers during the third quarter of 2009, ending the period with a consolidated subscriber base of 6.32 million, up from 4.85 million a year later.
