Slovak Telekom’s FTTH expansion continues

Slovak Telekom (T-Com) is expecting to complete an expansion of its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network to cover an additional 5,000 households over the next few weeks, Broadband TV News reports. The Slovak incumbent telco, majority-owned by Germany’s Deutsche Telekom, already passes approximately 275,000 homes with the high fibre access network, including twelve of the country’s largest cities, offering services including ‘Magio’ IPTV and internet access at speeds of up to 80Mbps. Investment in the network in 2007-09 has been estimated at EUR66.4 million (USD99.3 million).
