Half a dozen equipment vendors – Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Nokia Siemens Networks, NEC and ZTE have been shortlisted by Telefonica to participate in its long term evolution (LTE) trial which will run in half a dozen countries in Europe and Latin America. The six-month trials will take place in Spain, the UK, Germany, the Czech Republic, Brazil and Argentina and marks the start of Telefonica’s LTE vendor selection process.
