Canadian full-service telecoms operator Telus has posted a 2.1% year-on-year drop in third quarter net profit to CAD280 million (USD260 million)as total revenues dipped by 1.6% to CAD 2.4 billion in the face of stiff competition in the fixed line, broadband and mobile segments. The lukewarm results came despite cellular division Telus Mobility adding a net 125,000 new subscribers year-on-year, and the company’s total customer base growing by 326,000 in twelve months. Mobile revenues in July-September 2009 rose by 0.3% year-on-year.
