2 Nov 2009

Nigerian telecoms operator Globacom has introduced its ‘3G Plus’ modems for pre-paid subscribers, enabling access to high speed internet and videocalling services, local newspaper This Day reports. According to Globacom’s director of sales, Ken Hall, the service will initially be available in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin and Port Harcourt, although the company plans to expand coverage to other locations across the country in the future. Hall added that the offering will speed up the transmission of data, voice, broadband internet and multimedia services over a range of frequencies. Globacom first launched ‘3G Plus’ for post-paid customers in December 2007.
