Telkom enjoys strong third quarter

30 Oct 2009

Telkom of Indonesia has reported third-quarter net income of IDR3.3 billion (USD343 million), up 24% year-on-year, on the back of a 14% increase in sales to IDR16.4 trillion. The figures were boosted by growth in its mobile and data services: revenues from data rose 29.9% year-on-year to IDR4.5 trillion. Reuters reports that Telkom’s President Director Rinaldi Firmansyah believes the company’s profits will grow between 5% and 10% in 2009, helped by a strong currency and a cooling in the price war between operators.
