Tata Communications reports second quarter declines

Tata Communications has posted second quarter net income of USD6.6 million, down 67% year-on-year on the back of declines from wholesale voice as well as enterprise and carrier data revenues. The former slipped by USD12 million to USD71 million, while the latter fell slightly to USD72 million from USD73 million. According to FierceTelecom, in a bid to boost its performance, Tata recently signed global connectivity service agreements with Qatar Telecom and Russia’s RTComm, and a video-conferencing partnership with Starwood Hotels.
