Finland’s Elisa Corporation has released its financial results for the three months ended 30 September 2009, revealing a 4% year-on-year decline in revenue which the company attributed to lower levels of equipment sales, lower interconnection fees at both its Estonian and Finnish units and a continued decline in traditional fixed line services. For the three-month period the group’s total revenue was EUR360 million (USD514.5 million), down from EUR374 million, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 1.6% y-o-y to EUR131 million. Elisa said the small boost in EBITDA was a result of improved efficiency measures. Net profit for the quarter rose to EUR52.6 million, up from EUR51.3 million for the same period a year earlier.
