Lithuania’s incumbent fixed line telco TEO LT has posted its results for the nine months ended 30 September 2009, reporting group revenue of LTL618 million (USD267 million), an increase of just 0.2% compared with the same period a year earlier. Revenue generated in the third quarter of 2009 totalled LTL209 million, up from LTL204 million in the three months ended 30 September 2008. Voice telephony services generated 57% of total revenue in the first nine months of 2009, followed by internet and data services (33.8%), while TV services contributed 3%, IT services 2.8% and other services 3.2%. The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the nine-month period rose 2.1% year-on-year to LTL279 million, while profit for the period reached LTL134 million, up 3.7% against LTL129 million a year earlier.
At 30 September 2009 TEO LT’s fixed telephone lines in service totalled 731,208, representing a 5.3% fall year-on-year, while the number of broadband connections increased 7.3% to 307,529 and IPTV subscribers climbed 56.3% y-o-y to reach 51,239.
