Greek full-service telco Wind Hellas has released a preliminary third quarter financial and operational summary as part of an investor update on its business plan outlook and its current status in connection with its ongoing restructuring. Total Group revenues for the three months ending 30 September 2009 were estimated at EUR282 million (USD420 million), representing a decline of 16.6% compared to the same quarter in the prior year. EBITDA for the three-month period was approximately EUR98 million, down 25.5% year-on-year. In light of the third-quarter results and current market trends, Wind Hellas has revised its full-year outlook for 2009, with EBITDA now expected to be between EUR315 million and EUR320 million, as compared to the EUR320 million-EUR340 million range forecast in August. Mobile subscribers decreased by 1.6% year-on-year to 4.967 million at the end of September 2009, after a net loss of 209,000 users in the third quarter. Blended monthly ARPU in 3Q09 fell to EUR15.4 compared to EUR20.3 in 3Q08, although it rose from EUR14.8 the previous quarter. Wind Hellas’ fixed division, Tellas, saw total subscribers fall by 3.5% y-o-y to 764,000, although direct (unbundled local loop) customers rose 24.5% in twelve months to 193,000. Performance was negatively affected by the macroeconomic environment and regulatory pressure on pricing, according to the release.
