Promotional campaigns driving Red Mobile subs take-up

15 Oct 2009

Connectivity Unlimited Resource Enterprises Inc (CURE), which offers mobile services in the Philippines through its Red Mobile cellular brand, has reported strong subscriber uptake on the back of a number of promotional campaigns offering cheaper rates and handset offerings. The Manila Times quotes the head of Smart’s wireless consumer division Danilo Mojica as saying: ‘Right now, we are seeing 35% to 50% growth since the re-launch of Red Mobile [in July]. We are offering very cheap 3G handsets to spur usage. On top of that we also offer affordable rates.’ Mojica went on to say that CURE expects to register 300,000 users in the next twelve months, adding that this was a ‘conservative figure’.
