Turkish fixed line operator Turk Telekom has revealed plans to roll out a fibre-optic cable network in Iraq, Turkish daily Milliyet reports, citing the operator’s CEO Paul Doany. According to the report, Turk Telekom will meet with officials from the Iraqi Communications Ministry in Turkey next week to begin talks on the plan. Doany declined to comment on the project’s size or the investment budget, but did reveal it would be on a similar scale to the Turkish telco’s projects in Syria and Iran.
