DNA launches DVB-H mobile TV free trial

Finnish mobile operator DNA has launched a free mobile TV trial using Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) technology, in cooperation with Digita, the cellco announced in a press release. Digita operates a DVB-H mobile TV broadcasting network in the country, and its business manager, Taina Kaasalainen, said of the trial: ‘DNA… as a strong player in building market presence, is a prerequisite for mobile TV’s success…in Finland. We look forward to expanding services to actual pay-TV services.’ The free trial covers Helsinki and its surrounds as well as Tampere, Oulu, Turku and Salo; in all, two million Finns are covered by the mobile TV network, according to the release.
