6 Oct 2009

Taiwanese WiMAX operator Global Mobile has completed its initial network rollout in Hsinchu, Northern Taiwan, DigiTimes reports, citing company chairman Rosemary Ho. Global Mobile expects to complete trials across the network and pass examination by the National Communications Commission (NCC) by the year-end 2009, before commercially launching the network in early 2010. The company, which used equipment supplied by Canadian firm Bridgewater Systems, will offer free pilot services to business users later this month. Global Mobile then plans to rollout network infrastructure in Taipei.
