In a bid to boost performance at its wireline division KT Corp is to begin offering single rates for both local and long-distance calls. According to the Korea Herald, the service requires a three-year contract and allows subscribers to make long-distance calls at KRW39 (USD0.03) per three minutes, the same as local calls. In addition, KT customers with a landline subscription who get an additional internet telephone line will be exempt from the KRW2,000 basic monthly fee for the internet line, and will also receive a preferential landline-to-mobile rate of KRW13 per ten seconds.
