Smart to reveal slowdown in subscriber take-up, report says

30 Sep 2009

Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) president Napoleon Nazareno says the group’s mobile division Smart Communications will report net subscriber growth of less than a million customers for the fiscal third quarter, lower than the take-up seen in the first and second quarter. In an interview with BusinessMirror Nazareno noted that the third quarter is traditionally the weakest period of the year, but that the company has detected signs of slowdown in terms of revenues and subscriber net additions in the early part of the third quarter.
