29 Sep 2009

A report in Japan’s The Nikkei newspaper says the government is planning to set up a task force to evaluate the possible overhaul of the country’s largest telecoms group Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT). It is understood the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will set up the task force as early as next month to assess past policies, such as the privatisation of NTT, and regulatory reforms in the telecoms sector. A possible reorganisation of NTT will be looked at as well, the paper said.
