Singapore-based high-tech consultancy firm Cybercom Group, which offers global sourcing for end-to-end solutions, has announced it has been awarded an optimisation contract by Vietnamese mobile operator MobiFone. In a national outsourcing tender, Cybercom and its local partner TTCI were awarded a large proportion of territory in Vietnam to benchmark and optimise MobiFone’s network quality. ‘We are delighted to be awarded more than 50% of this national outsourcing project,’ said Conny Karlsson, MD of Cybercom Singapore, adding, ‘We are confident that the experiences we accumulated from other large projects in emerging markets will enable MobiFone to achieve operational excellence when it comes to network quality in Vietnam.’ Majority-owned by state-run national PTO Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Corporation (VNPT) through its Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services (VMS) division, MobiFone was the country’s first GSM operator, launching services in 1994. The contract is worth around USD2million and is valid for six months.
