KDDI keen on international growth through acquisitions

Japan’s second largest telecoms group KDDI Corp says it is keen to expand its overseas reach in the Asia-Pacific region through acquisitions, the Business Times reports, citing a senior executive. China in particular is seen as a key target market and only last week KDDI announced it was taking a 50.1% stake in Singapore-listed IT systems developer DMX Technologies, for a reported USD128.6 million. The paper quotes KDDI director of global business development Yasunori Matsuda as saying that China is considered a massive draw, as the country is the ‘most important market for KDDI’s Asian business.’
