Entel awarded VoIP licence

BNamericas reports that Chilean telecoms regulator Subtel has awarded Entel a 30 year concession to offer residential VoIP services. The company has 26 months to launch the service. Companies that already offer residential VoIP include Netline and RedVoiss. GTD Manquehue also recently won a license. Last year, Subtel introduced rules monitoring the quality of VoIP services offered on a commercial basis with Chilean numbering.
