Deutsche Telekom launches VDSL without bundled IPTV

According to heise.de, Deutsche Telekom (DT) has begun offering its VDSL service without IPTV. Approximately one third of fixed line telephony customers in Germany are covered by DT’s VDSL network, which offers downlink speeds of up to 50Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 10Mbps. The telco’s Call & Surf Comfort Plus 25 and 50 packages are priced at EUR44.95 (USD65.3) and EUR49.95 respectively, with required VDSL hardware costing in the region of EUR175 to outright purchase, or EUR2.95 to EUR3.95 per month to hire.
