Kabel BW speeds ahead with 100Mbps broadband in Heilbronn

German regional cable operator Kabel BW has launched broadband internet with download speeds of up to 100Mbps in the city of Heilbronn, in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, and the surrounding area. The cableco plans to be in the position to offer 100Mbps broadband to 3.5 million households in Baden-Wurttemberg across its entire network by mid-2010. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, Kabel BW launched 100Mbps broadband in the regions of Rhein-Neckar, Karlsruhe und Baden-Baden on 1 July 2009, including the cities of Mannheim and Heidelberg. The cableco implemented the DOSCIS 3.0 standard in April to raise its maximum internet download speeds to 100Mbps.
