NetCologne selects Actelis Ethernet solution

8 Sep 2009

German regional telecoms service provider NetCologne has deployed US-based Actelis Networks’ Ethernet over copper solution, enabling the operator to deliver high performance Metro Ethernet services across its network. Instead of deploying new fiber-optic lines for extending broadband services to its business customers, NetCologne chose to leverage its copper network and has rolled out Actelis’ carrier-class ML600 Ethernet access devices (EADs) and ML2300 Ethernet aggregation platforms, paired with SDU400 services module for full system redundancy. ‘Actelis provided NetCologne with the best Ethernet over copper solutions to improve our network’s performance,’ said Oliver Kuhl, project manager at NetCologne, adding, ‘Built into every Ethernet access system we are deploying, Actelis’ EFMplus technology allows NetCologne to reach more customers and provide more enhanced broadband services, while keeping operational and capital expenditures to a minimum.’ The solutions will provide NetCologne with greater flexibility and scalability, as well as the ability to tailor solutions to meet varying customer requirements and upgrade individual service levels on demand.
