Movilmax to get 10,000 WiMAX consumers in city

Venezuelan WiMAX network operator Movilmax expects to have 10,000 residential mobile broadband subscribers by the end of the year, compared to 6,000 at end-2008, company CEO Dick Abanto told BNamericas. In the corporate segment, the company began this year with 300 clients and expects to end December with 600, Abanto added. Movilmax, a unit of Omnivision, currently has 64 WiMAX base stations provided by Samsung, offering coverage of around 40% of Greater Caracas.
