Visabeira to invest USD3.1m in Timor-Leste

Portuguese holding company Visabeira Global, in partnership with Finnish equipment vendor Nokia Siemens Networks, plans to invest EUR2.2 million (USD3.1 million) in the construction of telecoms infrastructure in Timor-Leste, writes Portuguese news agency Lusa. Paulo Varela, chairman of Visabeira Global, said that under the contract the two companies will deploy 18 cellular base stations in various regions of Timor, including Dili, Lauten, Viqueque, Manatutu and Manufahi.
