7 Sep 2009

iTWire is reporting that the Australian government has published those submissions it received following a call for input related to the proposed legislative framework for the National Broadband Network (NBN). Following the publication, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE), Stephen Conroy, noted: ‘Key themes put forward in submissions include the need for effective access, equivalence and control arrangements. Submissions also discuss the types of services the NBN should provide, the role of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), ownership caps and related issues, and sell-down provisions.’

The government has also issued a separate call for submissions relating to its Regulatory Reform for 21st Century Broadband, for which it has already received more than 100 responses.
