Anatel lifts ban on Telesp’s Speedy service

28 Aug 2009

Brazil’s national telecoms regulator Anatel has removed the ban barring Telecomunicacoes de Sao Paulo (Telesp) from selling its ‘Speedy’ broadband internet services. The local unit of Spanish group Telefonica was ordered to stop selling broadband internet packages at the end of June after customer complaints about service quality. However, on Wednesday the watchdog said it had rescinded the order after Telesp delivered details of a plan to stabilise and improve the service.
