Bollore Telecom, the communications arm of French conglomerate Bollore, is reportedly in talks with domestic mobile operators Orange France and Vivendi’s SFR concerning plans use its 20 WiMAX licences in France. A report in La Tribune outlines two possible business plans under discussion: the first would see the creation of a joint business venture, with Bollore Telecom offering up its WiMAX licences and one of the cellcos providing its customer base. In the other scenario, Bollore could opt to sell its licences, acquired for a total of EUR78 million (USD111 million) between 2006 and 2008.
