PCCW’s turnover slides by 3%

20 Aug 2009

Hong Kong’s PCCW Group recorded a 3% year-on-year decrease in core revenue to HKD10.47 billion (USD1.35 billion) for the six months ended 30 June 2009, mainly due to lower turnover from its fixed line and broadband division and mobile business, partially mitigated by higher sales at its TV & Content and PCCW Solutions divisions. Core EBITDA for the six-month period fell by 2% year-on-year to HKD3.28 billion, whilst profit attributable to equity holders of the company amounted to HKD654 million. Total broadband access lines reached 1.305 million at mid-2009, up from 1.275 million a year earlier, whilst mobile subscribers increased by 20% y-o-y to 1.408 million.
