Intelig inks USD117m contract with Banco do Brasil

Brazilian long-distance telecom operator Intelig has been awarded a contract to supply voice services to the country’s largest bank, Banco do Brasil (BB), BNamericas quotes local press as saying. The operator bid BRL217 million (USD117 million) for the five-year contract, beating out a reported 2,700 tenders, including BB’s current voice supplier, Embratel, which bid BRL800 million. The bidding process took a total three days due to the overwhelming response to the tender.
