Ireland’s Digiweb unveils new managed services solution

14 Aug 2009

Irish alternative telecoms operator and managed services provider Digiweb has launched a new suite of managed services products to businesses in the Republic, aiming to position itself as a one-stop-shop for managed IT and communications services. The company sees the current economic downturn as an ideal time to launch a service which it claims will help business users reduce the cost and complexity of managing their communications, security, web and IT services. Dan King, Hosting and Managed Services Manager, of Digiweb, said: ‘During tough economic conditions, businesses throughout Ireland are trying to do more with less. We can help our customers save valuable time and money by managing some or all of their IT needs while they concentrate on running their core business.’

Having completed initial pilot trials of its new services with start-ups, SMEs and enterprise customers, Digiweb says the full-blown service offer is now being made available to all types and sizes of companies. The altnet provides national broadband access, as well as enterprise data networks, web server hosting, managed services and telephony to 58,000 residential, business and public sector bodies in Ireland and expects to see ‘strong uptake’ for the new managed services – particularly from its existing user base. Over the next twelve months it also hopes to see up to 1,000 new businesses signing up.
