Scailex to acquire 51.31% stake in Partner

Israeli handset distributor Scailex Corp has announced that it has inked a deal to acquire a 51.31% stake in mobile phone operator Partner Communications, according to Interactive Investor. Scailex will buy the stake from Hutchison Telecommunications International (HTIL), which announced plans to sell its majority holding last month. In a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Scailex said it buy the 78.94 million shares at USD17.50 per share. The deal will be subject to regulatory and other approvals, but Scailex said it is confident it will close the deal within three months.
