Ericsson, MagtiCom ink IPTV contract

Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the Croatian affiliate of Swedish telecoms equipment vendor Ericsson, has announced it has signed an IPTV contract with Georgian mobile operator MagtiCom. The deal, worth HRK17 million (USD3.3 million), will see the Swedish company deploy middleware, a Tandberg TV headend solution with initial capacity of 74 channels, video-on-demand (VoD) functionality, a satellite antenna subsystem and set-top boxes for the IPTV platform. Ericsson will also provide a number of professional services including project management, support and system integration.
