Wind reports rising revenues

Italian telco Wind has reported a 5.7% increase in revenues for the first six months of 2009, up to EUR2.82 billion (USD4.06 billion) at the end of June 2009 compared to EUR2.67 billion in the same period a year earlier. Net income for the six months ended 30 June 2009 climbed 15.9% year-on-year, up to EUR170 million from EUR147 million. Wind reported 281,000 net new subscribers to its mobile services, ending June 2009 with a mobile customer base of 17.5 million. Meanwhile, the company’s broadband division grew by 26.5% year-on-year, with 1.52 million customers as of 30 June 2009. Wind’s fixed line telephony customer base also grew in the period, with 2.74 million voice customers at the end of the first half of 2009, an 8.7% annual growth.
