Irish alternative operator Smart Telecom says it is making ‘significant financial progress’ in 2009, announcing it achieved positive EBITDA in its fiscal first quarter covering March-June 2009 – the first full quarter of positive EBITDA in the history of the company. Commenting on the results, Smart CFO Brendan Hunt said ‘We are extremely pleased to have achieved this significant financial milestone …The restructuring plan we implemented in Q1 has achieved our initial objectives and we look forward to improving our trading profile in the year ahead.
