Deutsche Telekom ICSS, the international wholesale division of German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom (DT), has announced the launch of an IP eXchange (IPX) platform. The new solution enables seamless convergence between different provider networks, therefore allowing greater interconnection between mobile network operators, fixed network operators, internet service providers (ISPs), and content and application providers. The IPX platform offers a global IP backbone and includes a completely managed connection with high flexibility and scalability, including customer premise equipment (CPE) for fixed network access up to 2.5Gbps or IPsec access up to 30Mbps. ‘ICSS’s efforts are focused on supporting its customers with the development of new services and solutions so that they can develop new, more lucrative business models on the basis of its offerings. IPX is an important new service that makes this possible,’ commented Helmut Angst, senior vice president at DT ICSS.
